School Families Letter

January 3, 2022 -- Happy New Year! Classes will resume as planned on Tuesday, January 4, 2022.  The Saskatchewan Health Authority has confirmed that schools can return to in-class learning following the break, with continued safety measures in place. In preparation, we encourage all school families to complete an at-home rapid test prior to the return to school. Most families will have had access to these tests through schools.

Proof of Vaccination or Test Status Required

December 10, 2021 (UPDATED) -- Regina Public Schools continues its commitment to promote the health and safety of students and employees and to provide and maintain a safe work and learning environment for all. The Government of Saskatchewan and the Saskatchewan Health Authority have recommended vaccinations for those who are eligible as one way to minimize COVID-19 risk to citizens.

As of November 29, 2021, proof of vaccination, or recent negative COVID-19 test, will be required for all who enter a Regina Public Schools building. This requirement does not apply to students.

Parents as Career Coaches

NOVEMBER 24, 2021 -- The Regina District Industry Education Council (RDIEC) is hosting a virtual "Parents as Career Coaches" event that will be available starting on Tuesday, November 30th on their YouTube channel. Information on funding students' education will be provided.

There will also be two $500 bursaries awarded to two lucky Grade 12 students! In order to qualify, parents or students will need to complete a survey on the RDIEC website.

COVID Case Identified

November 16, 2021 –  The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) informed us that there was one case of COVID-19 at Martin Collegiate.

All Individuals who the SHA considers to be in contact with the positive cases will receive a letter from the SHA.

If there are any future close contacts identified at the school, they will be contacted directly by Public Health.

Student Citizenship Awards

OCTOBER 26, 2021 -- Public Schools of Saskatchewan will be recognizing public school student groups or classes that support citizenship or character building within their schools or community by providing annual Student Citizenship Awards. Student groups or classes at elementary and high school will be recognized for their contributions. There will be three $1,000 awards for Grades 1 to 8 and three $1,000 awards for Grades 9 to 12.
