Martin Students Help Out

As winter approaches Martin Collegiate students will be participating in the following drives:

In response to discovering the depth and significance of the HIV AIDS crisis in sub-saharan Africa, Mr. Ziegler's Health Science 20 class at Martin Collegiate became determined to be a cog in the machine of assistance for these hurting and desperate people.  They are engaged in a fund-raising and advocacy campaign targeting the provision of Anti-Retro Viral drugs (ARV's) to infected persons.  These drugs act to dramatically slow down the expression of viral symptoms and prolong lives considerably.  The Stephen Lewis foundation has a proven track record for the efficient and responsible dissemination of resources such as ARV's  to Africa and this organization is the conduit of assistance the Health Science students chose.  In addition, Olivia Caswell managed to secure a funding agreement with a local company called IQMetrix whereby any money raised over the course of the campaign will be matched dollar for dollar!

We are inviting all of you to donate your old and gently used
coats for kids between the ages of 4-18. Coats can be dropped
off in the foyer.  No kid should be without a coat this winter.

So let's huddle up and bundle up our kids!

We will be collecting food from November 9th until Dec. 11th.
Students can bring their non-perishable food to their PRIDE classes.
Every Friday we will collect and weigh the food.  The PRIDE with
the highest weight will win a pizza lunch-in.
